We, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, warmly welcome you and hope
your visit with us is both pleasant and stimulating. No matter your belief system, there
is a spiritual home for you here. What exactly do we believe? Basically, we believe
that there is wisdom and value in all religions, but that no one religion has all the
answers. For many of us, religion is an ongoing search for meaning, purpose, and
value, both personal and societal. We have no creed but instead seven guiding
principles:
1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person
2. Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations
3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our
congregations
4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
5. The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our
congregations and in society at large
6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part

Unitarian Universalist Churches have often been a haven for people who wish to
practice their faiths in a safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere. Faiths represented by
our members include, but are not limited to, Buddhism, Hinduism, Paganism, Secular
Humanism, Shinto, Daoism, and Christianity. You will find no repressive religious
climate nor discrimination here.
We are a small congregation and have a lay minister who speaks twice a month. For
the other services we most often draw on the knowledge, experience and interests of
our members to provide our programs. Sometimes we have a professional guest
speaker, or a divinity student may lead the service. Other times, we call on people in
the surrounding community to give us their thoughts. We find this provides an amazing
variety of program topics and viewpoints. The freshness and spontaneity found in our
church is difficult to find elsewhere. We break for coffee and goodies after the
program, and then reconvene for a discussion of the morning's topic (the talk-back).
Children are very welcome; dress is informal. We hope you have an enjoyable
experience with us. And if you are hungry for a good church experience, perhaps you
will find it here with us.
