March 7 Robert Price: "Finding Your True Self". In this day and time many are finding that the typical religious titles and dogma do
not fit themselves. By drawing on several authors, personal experiences, music, and practical application we will seek to find new
insight and meaning for participants. Shamanism, polytheism, paganism and druidism will be highlighted.
March 14 Suzahn Fiering: Confessions of a Dixie Diva: How a good sense of humor and a positive outlook helps a
"liberal/progressive" (and longtime Unitarian) work with people from all over the spectrum (businesses, churches, festivals, activist-
groups, et alia), while maintaining her own integrity and balance. Talk will include personal anecdotes from Suzahn's life in the
entertainment world, from New York folk and jazz clubs to Nashville's Music Row scene to her current career as an internationally
touring jazz-artist/composer. (www.myspace.com/suzahnfiering) (Board meeting after talkback)
March 21 The Rev Amy Cates, a minister of the First Christian Church of Tullahoma and President of the Board of Citizens for
Homeless Relief, will speak about homelessness in Tullahoma and the surrounding areas. She will also discuss the work of
Shepherd’s House, the only homeless shelter in Tullahoma. (Congregational meeting after)
March 28 Kenneth Johnson: "The Spiritual Practices - Ancient pathways to spiritual growth." When it comes to spiritual growth and
development, we do not have to "reinvent the wheel." The world religions have developed basic spiritual practices to assist in our
growth in wisdom, peace of mind, insight, and equanimity. There is much agreement between these practices and otherwise
"secular" approaches to personal healing and evolution. And, there is an intimate connection between these practices and the
Unitarian Universalist commitment to social justice. (Potluck after talkback)
BOARD MEETING
March 14 is the date for the board meeting after the service and talk back. All are welcome.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
After the service on March 21, a vote will be taken to elect a board of officers for the next fiscal year and there will be an introduction
to Church Policy/Guide Lines.

RE BOOK CLUB (A NEW ACTIVITY)
The first R.E. Book Club meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 5, 7:00 p.m. at the home of Jim and Trudy Northway, 347 Rutledge
Falls Road, Tullahoma. Printed directions are available at the church. So many persons signed up that a second meeting (same
topic) will be held on the following Friday, March 12. Presently, Trudy serves as the Religious Education Director for our church.
She is initiating a once monthly R.E. Book Club, where participants will share discussion about written materials which will
enhance adult religious education in our congregation.
The topic for discussion is the Jesus Parables. Jesus made use of parables the same way Socrates used his dialogues - to make
his audience think. Jesus played upon the stereotypes and tensions in his world and wove explosive stories that called into
question the everyday assumptions of his audience. For centuries these parables have been routinely misread and largely
underestimated. Now scholars area attempting to recover their irony-edginess and “in your face” approach.
We will be looking at: (1) The Mustard Seed (Don’t be spreading weeds in my garden!) (Matthew 13:31-32 Mark 4:30-32 Luke 13:18-
19), (2) The Lost Son (The dysfunctional family?) Luke 15: 11-32 You may also want to look at The Lost Sheep, Matthew 18: 12-14
Luke 15:3-7 and The Lost Coin Luke 15: 8-10 (3) Workers in the Vineyard (UUs concern with justice makes this a “favorite”) Matthew
20: 1-16.
THANK YOU FOR THE SURPRISE

CHURCH YARD SALE
Leapin’ Lizards! In the blink of an eye, it will soon be time for the church yard sale, rain or shine. Saturday, April 17 is the date of the
sale. You may bring items for the sale to the church any time in March and April. Due to lack of storage space, wait to bring large,
bulky items until after the church service on April 11. DO let Lucy Boss know what you’ll bring though, so it can be advertised.
It is very helpful if the items are CLEAN and priced. Clothing should be marked on masking tape (on the left shoulder side of the
garment) with the size and price. Please use wire coat hangers. Blouses, dresses, shirts and pants (men’s and women’s:
separately) should be hung in the closet along with like items. Place price tags on knick knacks in a visible place. If you bring
electronics, put your name on it in case we have questions about it. Bed linens should be sized as to single, double, queen or king.
Table linens, curtains and drapes should be sized also.
In early April, we’ll be asking you to sign up to help with set up, taking down and as sales persons on the day of the sale. Try to be
organized in placing things in the back or the RE room and some in Doug’s office so as not to be too messy. If you wish to make a
purchase from sale items at the church, simply pay for it and take it home. Put the cash in the refrigerator drawer.

TULLAHOMA CROP(Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) HUNGER WALK!
Last year we raised over $10,000 and had over 200 people come out to Frazier McEwen on Palm Sunday afternoon and walk to
raise awareness about the on going and "growing" problem of hunger and poverty in our area and throughout the world. I am going
to have an informational meeting Thurs. March 4, at 10:00am at First Presbyterian Church in the Fellowship Hall, about this year's
walk, for those who were involved last year and for anyone wanting to learn more about CROP Walks. We would love to have some
new folks out there walking with us this year! If you cannot make the meeting (i know it is short notice-sorry!), please let me know if
you are interested, just want to know about it or would like for me to come talk to a group about our 2nd Annual CROP Walk! Thank
you so much for your love of Tullahoma and your help in fighting hunger! ( Christy Sherrer, Director of Christian Education and
Youth, First Presbyterian Church
